In today’s world, there are many people who dismiss Christianity without giving it much thought. Maybe it seems outdated, restrictive, or simply irrelevant to them, especially as you look at today’s culture. But, what if it’s true? What if you are one of those people? What if as C.S. Lewis said, Jesus really is Lord, and not a lunatic or a liar?

If Christianity is false, then believing in Jesus might just be a personal comfort. But if it’s true, then ignoring it has real, eternal consequences. Have you ever thought about what’s at stake for your life?

The Reality of God and Eternity

Christianity isn’t just about being a good person or following religious rules. At its core, it makes a bold claim: There is a God who created you, loves you, and wants a relationship with you. He has given us the freedom to choose, either to accept Him or reject Him. However, our choice doesn’t change the reality of His existence.

Jesus Himself said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) That’s a radical statement. If He was lying, then Christianity falls apart. But, if He was telling the truth, then ignoring Him isn’t just a minor mistake. It’s a life-altering decision.

The Weight of “What If I’m Wrong?”

Many people assume that if they don’t believe in God, they won’t be accountable to Him at the end of their lives. However, belief doesn’t determine reality. If Christianity is true, then ignoring it won’t make it disappear; it just means you’re unprepared for what’s ahead.

Think about it this way: If you were standing on train tracks and someone warned you that a train was coming, would you ignore them just because you didn’t see it yet? No! You’d at least step aside to be safe. Why do some treat eternity any differently?

What Christianity Offers And What You Risk Losing

Christianity isn’t just about avoiding judgment at the end of our earthly lives; it’s about gaining something incredible. Jesus offers forgiveness, purpose, and eternal life with Him. He doesn’t force anyone to believe, but He invites everyone.

Rejecting Him doesn’t just mean missing out on heaven; it means missing out on a deep, fulfilling relationship with the very God who created you. The Bible warns that those who reject Christ will face eternity separated from Him (2 Thessalonians 1:9). That’s not because God is cruel, but because He honors our choice.

What Will You Do With This Truth?

If Christianity is true, then ignoring it is the biggest risk you could ever take. Maybe you’ve dismissed it before, but today you have another chance to consider it. What if God really is calling you to know Him? What if Jesus really did die and rise again for you?

You don’t have to have all the answers right now, but you owe it to yourself to seek them. If there’s even a chance that Christianity is true, don’t push it aside. Eternity is too important to ignore.
