This question is one that many people wrestle with: How do I know the Bible is actually true? It’s a good question to ask as anyone begins to learn about Christianity, and one that deserves an honest look.

The truth is, everything we believe about God, salvation, and eternity starts with believing that the Bible is the Word of God. If we don’t trust the Bible, it’s hard to believe anything else it teaches. It’s natural to have questions about how something written by human hands could truly be written by God.

Many people struggle with the Bible’s credibility because it’s been translated into so many languages over thousands of years. They assume it must be watered down, altered, or just a collection of old stories passed down over time, but here’s what’s remarkable: despite all the translations, the core message of Scripture has never changed.

Whether you read it in English, Spanish, Hebrew, or Greek, the message is consistent. Yes, different translations may use slightly different words, but the meaning stays the same. God’s love for humanity, our need for salvation, and Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection are faithfully preserved throughout every version. That kind of consistency across centuries is nothing short of miraculous.

Not only do we see the miraculous in the transitions, but we also see them in fulfilled prophecies. The Bible is filled with predictions made hundreds, even thousands, of years before they were fulfilled. One powerful example is the life and death of Jesus. The prophet Isaiah wrote in detail about the Messiah’s suffering (Isaiah 53) over 700 years before Jesus was born. Psalm 22 describes crucifixion, a method of execution not even invented yet at the time it was written, yet it describes Jesus’ death vividly. Even where Jesus would be born (Micah 5:2) and how He would die were foretold long before they came to pass.

These fulfilled prophecies give credibility to the Bible’s divine origin. No other book has such a track record of supernatural accuracy.

So, how can you really know the Bible is true? Start reading it for yourself. It’s not just a history book; it’s alive. Hebrews 4:12 says, “For the word of God is living and active.” The more you read, the more you’ll see how it speaks directly to your heart, your questions, and your everyday life.

Millions across history have trusted the Bible not just because of archaeology or prophecy, but because it has changed their lives and still does.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Bring them to God, and then open His Word and see for yourself how trustworthy it truly is.Want to start reading the Bible but not sure where to begin?
