Have you ever reached a point where everything seems like too much, and yet not enough?

You push through your job, check in with your family, scroll through your phone, and maybe even chase a new goal or two. But somewhere deep inside, there’s a quiet emptiness. A dull ache that says, “Is this all there is?”

You’re not alone. Celebrities who have “achieved” everything they set out to do, still struggle for more, and they aren’t sure where to find it.  This feeling isn’t just burnout or the desire to succeed; it’s hunger. This is not physical hunger, but a hunger of the soul. The kind of hunger that no amount of success, comfort, or applause can satisfy.

God created us with purpose, and part of that purpose is to be in relationship with Him.

Jeremiah 29:11 speaks to this truth:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

This verse wasn’t written to people who had it all together. It was written to people in exile, people who were weary, confused, and wondering if God had forgotten them. Maybe that’s where you are too. But, God hadn’t forgotten them, and He hasn’t forgotten you either.

When life feels hollow, it may be because we’re trying to live out of alignment with the One who made us. Jesus said in John 6:35,

“I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

That’s not just a poetic promise; it’s an invitation. To come to Him with your weariness. Your confusion. Your longing for something more.

You were made for more than just survival. You were made for connection, with your Creator, with others, and with the purpose He’s placed inside of you. Jesus doesn’t offer a life free of problems, but He does offer a life full of meaning. That’s what your soul might be aching for.

So if life feels empty right now, maybe it’s time to ask:
Have I been chasing things that don’t actually fill me?
Have I been ignoring the One who made me?

God hasn’t gone anywhere. He’s still speaking, still loving, still calling you by name.Maybe this isn’t burnout. Maybe it’s a holy invitation to come back to the One who gives your life its deepest meaning. Ready to answer that invite? Check out our Ready page to learn more.
